On the occasion of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, JR inaugurated GIANTS, a series of monumental photographic installations using scaffolding and created in situ.
Rather than working with famous athletes, JR is interested in the anonymous who train with the dream of becoming an Olympian and who would embody the gesture, recognizable at first glance: the dive, the high jump, or swimming ...
This installation pays tribute to Mohamed Younes Idriss, a Sudanese high jumper who was unable to participate in the 2016 Olympic Games due to an injury.
