Description

Following the debate about  the building of the wall between Mexico and the USA, JR installed at the border an image that went all around the worldIt was a giant portrait of Kikito, a Mexican toddler, placed on a scaffolding structure that allowed him to look across the border, echoing the millions of migrants who are seeing in the U.S. an escape or the promise of a better future.

A month later, JR organized a picnic next to the installation. Seated on either side of the border around the eyes of Mayra, a "dreamer" who had immigrated to the U.S. as a child, the participants shared the same food, drank the same water and listened to the same music, which musicians played together on both sides of the border, making the wall disappear for the duration of a meal.

For the first time, JR releases a lithograph with both the installation of Kikito's portrait and the picnic on the same image.
